365 - Whats in a name?
We are slowly making our way through this whole book.  Picking a name really requires a lot of thought, A name lasts a lifetime afterall, choose wisely.

Well my Project 365 has come to an end.  I can't believe I actually managed to keep to it for a whole year.  I'm not planning on doing another for 2012 as I don't think I will have as much time to be as dedicated next year with my new arrival in February.  I will most definitely still be blogging though as I love having a diary of my life to look back on.
As always......

Project 365 #355 - Knock on Wood

Project 365 #355 - Knock on Wood - I bought these 2 wooden pieces about 7 years ago in Tunisia and I noticed that they were really starting to look their age, the colour was fading so I thought I would try and revive them a bit.  I spent about an hour rubbing wax into them and although the outcome looks really subtle on camera, in real life they do look and smell great!  I'm pleased (and quite clearly a little bit sad to be so excited about wood)

*hmmm an hour polishing 2 peices of wood........I think the nesting is kicking in?*

Project 365 #354 - Oh yes he is.......

Project 365 #354 - Oh yes he is....... Every year my best friend and I take a trip to Plymouth to watch the panto, this year it was Cinderella.  Unfortunately my car decided to die on the way up and we had to be rescued by husband........bad times! After a car swap we made it to Plymouth where we spent the day getting a few little last minute bits for Christmas, had a lovely meal at Bella Italia and then settled down to an evening of festive fun and laughter.  Gosh I love Panto!

Project 365 #351 - Making Mince Pies

Day 351 - Making Mince Pies - As the weather is so horrible the only thing to do is make and bake.  I made a batch of mince pies.  I cheated a little though, I didn't make the mincemeat or the pastry, I'm not a fan of homemade pastry but I think next year i'm going to make my own mincemeat.  I topped each pie with a pastry star and then sprinkled with icing sugar.  Don't the look pretty!  I also watched my beautiful niece in her Christmas Nativity this morning, another little perk of maternity leave........ maternity leave is aces!

Project 365 #350 - Models Own Juicy Jules and Mavala Cuticle Remover

Day 350 - Models Own Juicy Jules and Mavala Cuticle Remover - Pretty impressed with both of these little gems.  I've been looking for a cuticle remover for a while.  I have cuticle clippers but I wanted an oil/cream form to get rid of every trace and this ticked all the boxes.  As for Juicy Jules - It is stunning, a truly festive polish!

Project 365 #349 - Raspberry Leaf Tea

Day 349 - Raspberry Leaf Tea - I've heard many a good thing about drinking raspberry leaf tea in the last few weeks of pregnancy , from 32 weeks onward (i'm now 33 weeks!).  Apparently it strengthens and tones the muscles of the uterus helping them to contract more efficiently and can in effect shorten the second stage of labour.  It has also been known to shrink the uterus back to its former size if sipped after delivery.  All sounds good to me, only time will tell if it actually does anything.

Project 365 #347 - Puff Pastry Meat Patties

Day 347 - Puff Pastry Meat Patties - Im fully taking advantage of my maternity leave now and have been getting busy in the kitchen.  Monday I made meat patties.  They really are quite simple to make.

Makes 24

500g Beef Diced
1 Onion
1/2 Pint Gravy
Seasoning (pepper, Oregano)
Worcester Sauce
Puff Pastry
1 egg

Finely chop the onion and fry in a frying pan, add the diced beef, seasoning and Worcester sauce .  Once beef is cooked all the way through make your gravy (I just used Bisto) pour in to the onion and beef mix and stir for a couple of minutes.  Leave to one side for about 30 minutes to cool.  Oil your muffin tins and then cut out circles from the puff pastry, line the muffin tins and spoon the mixture onto the pastry cases.  Top each pie with another circle of pastry, brush tops with lightly whisked egg.  Put in the oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Job Done!

Project 365 #346 - Carols by Candlelight

Day 346 - Carols by Candlelight - On Sunday husband and I had a lovely evening singing Christmas Carols by candlelight at the village church.  The whole church is full of Christmas Tree's which have been decorated by locals of the village, everyone is given a candle and all the lights are turned off and the whole church is lit up by fairy lights from the trees and candles, it was absolutely beautiful.  I love singing and I'm nearly always the one singing the loudest.

Project 365 #345 - Deck the Halls

Day 345 - Deck the Halls - The Decs went up today.  Every year after we put our decorations up Dylan has the urge to go out and buy more, so we went out and bought a couple more baubles and then decided to buy a tree for our bedroom.  I plugged in my festive smelling plug in, lit some cinnamon and berry candles, put my new red sequin table runner on the table, put the Christmas CD on and sat down with a rhubarb white hot chocolate, feeling seriously festive.

Project 365 #344 - Being Hagrid!

Day 344 - Being Hagrid! - I finally watched The Deathly Hallows Part 2 on Friday with friends.  We decided to get into the theme a bit so I went as Hagrid (well I already had the belly for it), Dyl was Voldemort and my friends were Harry and Hermione.  I thoroughly enjoyed the film, I expected to shed a tear or two but in fact I didn't cry at all.  It was a great way to end my first week of Maternity Leave!

Project 365 #343 - Rock-A-Bye

Day 343 - Rock-A-Bye - The newest addition to the nursery. Both the chair and the throw are from Ikea.  We thought that a chair of the rocking kind would be best for those night time feeds and the blanket is to keep me warm.  Everything seems to be coming together now, husband put the pram together today and everything is in place, were just waiting for little babe to come now, its so exciting x

Project 365 #340 - A lovely belated birthday gift

Day 340 - A beautiful belated birthday gift - My lovely friend Kate popped in to see me to give me my birthday gift.  Isn't it so cute, she also got me a much needed umbrella as mine has broken and the weather has been so dire over the last few days.

My first day of maternity leave was spent making Christmas cards whilst listening to the Christmas tunes on MTV, drinking tea and waiting for a delivery (which never turned up grrrrrrrr!) Still beats working any day.
