Jumpsuit-Matalan/Vest-Primark/Sandals-Topshop

I purchased my first ever jumpsuit this week and I don't think it will be my last.  I picked this little number up from Matalan, it was in the sale reduced from £20 to £10.  Its so lovely and lightweight, I love the bird print and I just know it would look rocking with a pair of wedges too.  Yesterday was quite a humid day and I had plans to meet up with my other mama friends for coffee so I thought I'd whip it out along with my Topshop sandals which I've hardly been able to wear this summer due to the horrible weather.  Come on summer, I want to get my butt down the beach!

What do you think of jumpsuits? Like or dislike? Do you own one?

a Lidl goes a long way

The last couple of weeks I've been doing my weekly food shop at Lidl for a change and I just want to mention a few amazing products that I picked up.  First up is Cien night cream, this has had really great reviews and as i've just ran out of my regular night cream I thought I would give this a go.  I can't comment on how well it works as I've only used it once but it smells really nice and feels really moisturising. Next is the Chanel Coco  Mademoiselle dupe, Suddenly Madame Glamour, a lot of bloggers have already mentioned this fantastic fragrance and it seriously does smell just like Chanel but for the bargain price of  £3.99, this is a great "throw in the handbag" perfume.

A few other products that deserve a mention are their jaffa cakes - they seem somewhat posher than the McVitie kind, although they do taste completely different, I kinda like em.  And also their nappies are brilliant and bargainous and manage to keep in the contents of Fletcher's explosive bum.  Sorry TMI :-)

sandals and flip flops

Anyone else fed up with this summer that were having?  I've been dying to wear my new sandals from Topshop but every time I crack them out the rain comes and rains on my parade which is what happened yesterday when I decided to wear them .........and then today, I wake up, look out the window RAIN so on go the jeans and the uggs and then it turns into a beautiful sunny afternoon....meh! So instead of wearing them I took photos of them in my garden along with my new Havaianas which I was surprised to see in my local Matalan this week for £10, bargain, couldn't leave them there. Lets hope we get some better weather soon before I start overdosing on Vitamin D tablets.

out with the girls

 Jeans-Dorothy Perkins/Vest-Primark/Blouse-Topshop/Bag-Nica/Boots-Nine West

Last Friday night I was Sam for a couple of hours instead of Mum and went out for a meal in Ask with 3 of my girlfriends.  It was so lovely to dress up a bit and have a good old gossip, I think I needed it after doing the single mum thing for so long.  I love Italian food, I could literally eat it every day so Ask was perfect.  I had the Insalata Caprese {Buffalo Mozzarella} to start and Rigatoni Al Manzo Piccante {fiery meatballs} for the main........delicious.

Dylan is also giving me the night off this Friday too so that I can go to the cinema with my friend and relax.  I tell ya, that husband of mine he's a keeper for sure.

an ugg alternative - slippers

You know your an old married couple when you ask for sheepskin slippers for your anniversary present.  Dylan bought me these Wombat sheepskin slippers from Amazon.  I have wanted a pair of decent hard wearing slippers for such a long time.  I don't know if any of you guys are like me but I pretty much live in slippers and i'm terrible for wearing them outside also {not to the shops or anything just out in the garden, bringing the washing in etc} so they needed to have a nice hard sturdy sole to them.  I had my eye on THIS PAIR by Ugg but just couldn't justify spending £70 on slippers so after having a good look around the interwebs I found THESE little beauties for £43 and I actually think they look nicer.  I love how fluffy and soft they are, I highly recommend.  Now pass me my blanket and a cup of cocoa :-)

a lot to celebrate {and a lot of photos}

rather pleased with my new slippers, Maisy seems to like them too

 hand print mug for daddy

 How awesome is this

Pannini with ham, Davidstow cheese and apple chutney (obsessed with apple chutney right now, can't get enough of the stuff.  I really want to make my own)

It was all a bit much for Fletch

We had a lot to celebrate around these parts on Sunday. 6 years of wedded bliss and a first Father's Day all in one day so to celebrate we had a lovely family day out to an old Cornish Mine and World Heritage Site Heartlands.  It was so lovely to actually spend the day outside without being rained on and have some quality family time together with my 2 favourite guys.  We had a blast reading all about the mines and how children as young as 8 would work in these dangerous conditions........CRAZY.  I never appreciated history when I was at school but I find it fascinating now.

Also can you believe how different I look in my wedding pictures.  I had blonde hair all my life, I was born bald and then when I finally did get hair at about 6 months of age it was pure white/blonde it wasn't until secondary school when it started to turn mousy in colour and I started hitting the bleach and then after my wedding I fancied a change and cut my hair off into a bob and then dyed it brunette and it pretty much stayed brunette ever since.  Being married has such a significance in my life and the fact that we have Fletcher now just makes celebrating our marriage so much sweeter.  I love my little family.

thats life

 crash and burn

Well my darling husband has been back from Oman for over a week now and today he had to go back to work so i'm back to being a single mama for 4 days, this sucks because for the last 4 nights Fletcher has been waking up in the middle of the night crying inconsolably for hours and I had my first mama meltdown yesterday.

I'm a great believer in keeping positive and filling my life with happiness but Its so horrible when your baby is crying and you have no idea what is wrong, I burst into tears in the kitchen and then started the whole "I'm such a bad mother because I don't know whats wrong with him", and although I was really upset I know it was just the tiredness taking over and if i'm honest it felt really good to just cry and Dyl was the perfect husband and said all the right things whilst wiping my tears away.  Sooooooo after all that crying and a better nights sleep last night I felt like a new woman this morning and I've spent the day with my mum chatting, walking and pureeing vegetables for Fletcher, perfect mother and daughter time.  If I can be just an ounce as good as a mum as my own mother I will be happy.

a family reunion, a wedding and a sleepy baby

These last few days have been simply wonderful.  I got my husband back on Wednesday and the little reunion was rather emotional, some might say I missed the guy ever so slightly.  We spent the day together as a family on Thursday and went to town and picked up a few little bits for the little man. Saturday I attended a wedding of two of our best friends, it was magical and Fletcher wore his first ever suit and the celebrations will continue today at a Jubilee Party.  Life is pretty sweet at the moment, even the weather can't ruin this mood.
