You may remember back in August that The Burrows had a little camping trip to Dorset.  It was our first time camping with Fletcher and boy was he excited.  We borrowed my dads little camper van and booked a lovely campsite called Monkton Wyld Holiday Park for a 2 night stay.  We all slept in the tent/awning compartment and Fletcher stayed in his new Minion Readybed which he thought was the best thing ever (don't worry we did throw another sleeping bag on top of him, it gets super cold at night).

We spent our first day in Lyme Regis which was beautiful, I loved all the beach huts in a row and we had a delicious lunch in a restaurant called By the Bay.  I'm a little bit obsessed with sweet potato fries at the moment.  Fletcher had a blast bouncing on the trampoline on the beach and after a lovely stroll along the beach we made our way back to the campsite.  Once we had put Fletch to bed Dylan and I watched a programme all about seagulls and actually found it really interesting (who have we become!!).

The following day we headed to Beer and spent the day at Pecorama which is a model railway surrounded by beautiful gardens (and the best soft play area I have ever seen).  The views from the gardens were stunning.  Fletch had a great time riding on the trains and even got his face painted.  Once we had finished up in Pecorama we took a stroll into Beer, had a walk across the beach, decided I needed a deck chair in my life (might as well buy it next year now as our summer is over) and had a Beer in a Beer Garden in Beer (when in Rome and all that).  We then headed back to Lyme Regis where we had pizza on the beach, had an ice cream, spent about an hour in the amusements playing all the 2p machines and then went back to the campsite pretty content.  That evening I kicked Dylan's ass at scrabble.

On our last day it rained so once we had packed up the tent etc we took a little trip to Butterflies & Otters in Buckfast and spent the afternoon exploring all the different kinds of butterflies, learning about the otters and we even got to stroke a bearded dragon.  It was a really lovely little break and nice that we didn't have to go ridiculously far to enjoy ourselves.

Thanks for reading.
Keep Smiling
