178 - Fringe Benefits - I decided it was time to trim cut in my fringe. I hadn't realised how much my fringe had grown out and after looking through lots of my old photos it made me realise how much I miss my sweepy fringe so out came the scissors and the fringe is reborn!! I must remember to trim it more often now.
177 - Lazy Sunday Afternoon - Sunday was mainly spent sitting in the garden reading my book and eating fruit with yoghurt, yummy! I did also find time to cut my grass and paint my gate and Dylan built a step right because he is good like that, so a productive day all round. Oh and my book has recipes at the end of every chapter, cool hey!
Day 176 - Whoopie Pies - I went to a baby shower this afternoon and spent the morning whipping these little whoopie pies up. The recipe is from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook Cake Days. I had a bit of trouble finding Marshmallow Fluff (in fact I couldn't find it anywhere so had to make my own!!) I have since discovered that it is available at Kingsley Village Food Hall in Fraddon so I shall be stocking up next time i'm up that way. Sorry the photo isn't that glamorous but I snapped it on my phone after a few had already been eaten.
175 - Bath hunting - This is quite possibly taking "try before you buy" to the extreme. The sales assistant actually didn't even bat an eyelid as he walked past husband lying in the bath in the showroom! We are still totally undecided as to what bath we want, the hunt continues!
174 - Adorable - How adorable is my hound (the husband aint bad either). About 10 minutes after I took this photo Maisy decided to take a pee on Dylan's leg which made me laugh so hard that I nearly peed my pants!!
Day 173 - Curry & Movie Night - Husband and I finished off our painting and decorating today and realised we had bought one roll of wallpaper too many so off to Laura Ashley we went to get our money back and whilst there I actually ended up spending more money on a candle, room spray and diffuser all in the scent fresh linen and jasmine, this stuff smells like heaven, I literally couldn't remove my nose from the candle.
This evening I made chicken balti for dinner and to top the night off we are just about to watch the film The Town and eat crispy M&M's.
I'm back to work tomorrow :-( but at least I only have 2 days to work and it's the weekend :-)
Day 172 - Painting & Decorating - Spent the day decorating our spare bedroom today. We bought the paper from Laura Ashley last month and I am so pleased with how it has turned out. This room is basically being used a guest room/make up room. Now we just need to get a guest bed to go in the room, I have been eyeing upthis one in ikea, what do you think?
Day 171 - Stawberrys & Cream (the Cornish way) - Mmmmmm now seems to be a good time to buy strawberry's. I picked these up in Tesco yesterday and they are just perfect. Topped it off with a dusting of icing sugar and a generous dollop of Cornish Clotted Cream and voila a taste sensation right there.
Today has been spent looking around bathroom showrooms, husband and I are trying to get as much inspiration as possible for when we decorate our bathroom, there is so much to think of, what tiles to get, what colour scheme, what kind of bath, sink, shower, taps, towel rail the list goes on......
I would like to say a massive thanks to Hannah over at which way to wonderlandfor featuring me on her blog today. I did a little blogger interview for her and she is really lovely so head over there and check out her blog and the interview.
Day 170 - Let them eat cake - It has become a bit of a tradition on our anniversary to buy a top tier of a fruit wedding cake. Bearing in mind our anniversary was only 3 days before this photo was taken you can see that we have made quite a good start at eating it. Looks like i'll be walking this off for a few days.
Day 169 - Mr & Mrs ....... - This evening Dylan and I went to our friends wedding evening do and what makes it totally awesome is that they have the same surname as us, cool hey!
It was a brilliant evening with lots of dancing, laughter and Cornish Pasties - what more could you possibly want. It beats the day that we had which mainly involved cleaning our house and putting duvets into those plastic bags and sucking the air out - husband and I know how to have fun :-)
17 June 2011 - This day 5 years ago I married my first love, the love of my life Dylan! I still look at him and can't believe how lucky I am to have found him.
He spoiled me rotten and bought me a beautiful charm for my pandora bracelet with the words I Love You inscribed on it and he also got me Ange ou Demon Le Secret perfume and 3 bunches of flowers. As the weather was abysmal we had no choice but to do inside activities so we went to the Eden Project in St Austell. For our evening meal we went to The Bay restaurant in Penzance which was delicious. We had a lovely day x
For those of you who are wondering how we met, it happened in November 1999 at our local social club, I was 16 years old, young and naive, he was 22 and fresh out of a 2 year relationship and wasn't ready to jump straight into another one. However we did share our first kiss at midnight on new years eve of the Millennium and dated for a month but as I said before Dylan wasn't ready to settle down and wanted to be single for a while.
I was heartbroken and after 2 years I had just about given up waiting for him. But then Dylan joined the RAF in 2002 and something just clicked. We started writing to each other. It was so much easier to write down all your feelings rather than say them out loud. So after a couple of very heartfelt letters I drove the 5 1/2 hour journey up to his base in Cosford Wolverhampton (the day after Valentines day) and we decided to give the relationship another go and we've never looked back.
I don't know what made it so right this time, I think we both did a lot of growing up and I'm 99% sure that the RAF changed Dylan. I really couldn't be happier.
Day 167 - Plymouth Primark Haul - Husband and I took a trip to Plymouth for a mooch around. First stop was Primark where I picked up these little beauties. How gorgeous are the floaty tops with the pussy bow, they also had them in a rust colour. I can't wait to wear the sandals when the sun finally decides to make an appearance again.
On our way back to the car we stopped in Marks and Spencer to pick up some YumYums, I am a little bit obsessed with these things, they are the business.
Day 166 - Sleepy Head - The Road Trip well and truly took it out of me. Travelling in a car for hours on end always tires me out so I spent the majority of Wednesday sleeping which was just what I needed. Sorry really boring post but I literally just sat in a car and slept.
Day 165 - Take That Progress Tour - One word for you all WOW. My sister, friend and I went on a road trip to Cardiff to watch the Take That Progress Tour (yes I was one of the lucky buggers that managed to get tickets after spending a day in front of the computer on Ticketmaster when I should have been doing work, it was a very stressful day but was soooo worth it)
So after travelling for 3 1/2 hours and paying the ridiculous price of £5.70 to get over the bridge we got to our hotel in Caerphilly. Fast forward to 8:15pm and I was surrounded by 64,000 people all screaming for Take That. To say it was AMAZING would be an understatement, there are no words to describe how brilliant they were. I didn't want it to end. If you have tickets for this show you will not be disappointing.
Day 164 - Ikea Purchases - I gave husband a very small list of things to pick up from Ikea on his drive home from base today (when I say small I mean REAL small it was literally 2 things). So he came home with my lovely new cutlery and another picture frame for our picture wall.
Today was a very good day in work made even better by the fact that I'm now on annual leave until next Thursday - GOOD TIMES
Day 163 - Beauty Purchases - Picked up a couple of bits in Boots today.
Tresemme Glossing Spray - I've heard great things about argon oil for your hair and as I'm trying my best to get my hair back into good condition I thought I would give this a go. It smells lovely
Revlon Just Bitten in Gothic - I saw these advertised on telly recently and thought they looked quite fun. It looks like a felt tip pen which is actually a genius invention because it means you can be very precise with your application. I got it in the colour Gothic as I wanted a nice rich red colour but I almost bought the colour passion too which was a pretty pink colour, hmmmm maybe next time.
Benefit Posie Tint & High Beam - If your not already aware, Glamour magazine are giving away free samples of these classic products from Benefit, they are also giving away Bene Tint but as I already have a similar lip & cheek stain I didn't bother with that one.
Day 162 - Tatty Bye Ombre - This morning I said goodbye to my ombre hair. I did love my lighter ends but they were just so frazzled from the bleach and the blonde seemed to go an orangy colour quite quickly which is never nice.
As I have been growing out my hair to its natural colour for over a year now I didnt want to put a colour all over my head so I just literally dyed the ends with Loreal in Shade 6 Capri natural light brown and it seemed to be a really good colour match. So I now have one tone hair, it already looks so much healthier.
I've just been watching The Cube with Tom from McFly, he did so well, I bloody love those guys!
161 - Rimmel Apricot Punch - How gorgeous is this colour, I saw it in Boots last week and had to pick it up. Thought I would try it out today and i'm already in love, it's such a summery fruity colour. Now we just need the sunshine to come back!
160 - Giving decaf a whirl - I've drank regular coffee in like forever, and thought it would be good to give decaf a go so whilst doing the weekly shop this week I picked up some Carte Noir (they do THE best regular coffee so thought their decaf version would be a good shout) and I wasn't disappointing, this stuff tastes pretty darn good. Looks like i'm converted! Not sure if i'm ready to try decaf tea just yet though.
Day 158 - Husband Listens - Oh he's a keeper that husband of mine............ I came home from work yesterday to find that he had been into town and picked up my favourite perfume. You may remember I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had completely run out of perfume (this is very unusual for me as I usually have about 4 on the go). This is basically my signature scent, I have been wearing it for about 10 years and its the one perfume that I get the most comments about, I am also the only person I know that wears it. I think people are put off by the colour of it (the perfume is a very dark orangy colour which I usually associate with granny-ish perfumes) but seriously it smells amazing. So anyway, I ripped the wrapper off this morning and got my smell on.
I'm actually a little selfish in that I try not to tell people the name of it as I don't want others to smell as good as me haha. So if you want to smell like heaven try it out girls, I won't be TOO mad if you end up buying it.
Day 157 - Shadows - Dylan and I took a lovely stroll along the beach with the hound. The weather has been oh so good these past couple of days so we're making the most of it and soaking up as much vitamin D as possible. My homework for my photography course was to capture shadows this week. I thought the beach would be a great place to do this so we grabbed some props (umbrella and hat) and got to work, I was rather pleased with the outcome, if only homework involved the beach when I was at school, I would have been top of the class.
Day 156 - Car Boot-in - Dylan and I were up at the crack of dawn on Sunday, Dylan nursing a hangover, myself feeling fresh as a daisy (designated driver you see). The reason for the early wake up call was so that I could take Dylan to his first ever car boot sale. He probably couldn't fully appreciate it with "the hangover" but we did manage to pick up 3 books for a £1 (Obviously I had 2 husband had 1) and a tripod for my camera. On the way back to the car we ordered a bacon roll from the breakfast van and Dylan got a bit embarrassed when I asked the lady if she would kindly cut it in half for us because we love to share.
Once home I did A LOT of gardening and Dylan put up a new gate. It was a very happy sunny Sunday.
Day 155 - Wedding Outfit - Here is the finished look for the wedding that I went to on Saturday. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the location of the wedding was beautiful. It was set in a Manor House which had acres of fields and was stunning. I literally danced the night away and generally had a blast! The Bride & Groom are fantastic people so I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
Day 154 - Mint Choc Chip Nails - Ahhhh I love Fridays. Had dinner with the in laws this evening, I'm so lucky to have such great in laws. I get on really well with Dylan's Ma & Pa. Dylan's parents are divorced so this evening we went to visit his mum and her husband. We had roast dinner which probably seems like a silly dinner to have since the sun has been shining like mad all day but man it was delish. We then sat out in the conservatory chatting about old holidays and drinking tea with the sun beaming in, it was utterly gorgeous.
After chilling out in the conservatory for a while we decided to head home as I needed to cut Dylan's hair before the wedding that we are attending tomorrow and I needed to paint my nails, I went with mint choc chip by 17 from Boots as I felt it matched my dress quite well. I will post a pic up of the outfit so keep your eyes peeled.
Day 153 - Fudge, Mag and Whirly Word - This is how my evening is going:
Came home from work/tidied husbands mess up (arrgghh clothes all over the floor make me so cross)/did the food shop (bought the fudge and mag whilst there)/ate my dinner which was chicken with salad if your interested/realised I had missed come dine with me/watched Hollyoaks instead/had a couple of games of whirly word its really addictive.
I'm now going to finish reading my mag and then take the hound for an evening walk.
Day 152 - Curry Night - I really felt the need to share this taste sensation with you. Dylan and I cooked up a curry last night, usually we don't bother with dips or sides but we saw this in tesco and thought........ why not, and my gosh is it amazing.
Day 151 -Ooooh its fascinating - I had such a lovely chilled evening tonight at my friend Danielle's house. She is getting married on Saturday so Amy and I popped in to see her to check that she's not too stressed and just have a good old gossip. I love girly chats over coffee, I much prefer it to going out on the town and getting sloshed. I got the fascinator for the bargain price of £3 from Matalan. I have never worn a fascinator in all my life, so I'm not really sure how its gonna go down, its such a grown up thing to wear.
Day 150 - Runner - Took the husband to Dunelm Mill today and this is what we picked up. I love it but we had to put it off centre as it obstructs our bathroom door. But Mr Fixit has come up with a genius plan to plane off the bottom of the door so that it brushes over it (I knew there was a reason why I married him ha).
Went to the cinema to watch The Hangover Part II and as far as sequels go it was probably one of the best. They very much stuck to the original but still managed to make it hilarious.
