Avène samples

The other day I was browsing the Avène website {i'm always on the hunt for a cream/cleanser that's going to do amazing things to my skin} and whilst I was there I decided to register and do a skin diagnosis to see what products they recommended for my skin type so that I could look out for the products in Boots............A couple of days later I was pleasantly surprised when I received a little package in the post from Avène with samples of the products that they recommended.

I can't wait to give these a go and if I get on with them I will be buying the full size.  So go on over to the Avène website and do a skin diagnosis for your free samples, go on.......go,go,go!

september sun

Well September has been a pretty awesome month.  We had some of the best weather at the beginning of the month which meant a few trips to the beach and a good old treasure trail {one of my favourite ways to explore local towns and villages} and we also managed to squeeze in a first family holiday to Snowdonia which was truly beautiful, I spent a lot of my time saying "oh wow look at that view".  We stayed in a lovely log cabin and did the usual touristy things, visited Portmeirion and took the Mountain Railway to Snowdon Summit, it was a lovely first holiday as a family of 3.

It's officially Autumn now, which I am pleased as punch about as Autumn and Spring are my favourite seasons.  Summer is so overrated and Winter is just to blemmin cold for my liking.  I'm looking forward to plenty of walks through the crunchy leaves all wrapped up in my scarf, hat and gloves and cozy nights in by the fire with a hot chocolate and warm snuggles with my baby.

What are you looking forward to most about Autumn?

Its September and it's finally hit me that my maternity leave is coming to an end.  I officially go back to work in October but I am taking another month of annual leave which takes me up to 5 November.  I really thought I would be ready to go back to work by now but I've got to be honest I'm not, I love being at home with my son doing mum things like attending mummy groups, baby yoga, swimming for babies {still need to post those underwater photo's don't I} and generally just not having that Sunday night feeling.  But if I don't work I wont be able to afford to buy lovely things for my little, sooooo hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go.  The good news is I'm only going back part time so i'll be in work for 3 days and home for 4, I think I can live with that.

On a lighter note, were going on our first family holiday next week to Snowdonia for 4 days which i'm rather excited about.  I just need to start packing, where do I even start on packing for Fletcher? HELP!

Do you have any tips on packing for trips with a little? Are there any key items I should pack or leave at home?

two things i'm loving today.....

* Firstly my hair - I don't know how I managed to have a good hair day today as it's actually really dirty and seriously needs a good wash {its on my to do list ok}, but thanks to dry shampoo and a few bobby pins i'm pleasantly surprised with how it turned out.

* Secondly my make-up - The majority of the time my eye make up routine is literally 2 coats of mascara and that's it {I don't have so much time on my hands these days}but today I thought I would go crazy and actually throw some eyeshadow on.  Here's what I used:

Garnier BB cream in Light Clair/YSL Touche Eclat/Body Shop Baked to Last Bronzer in Warm Glow/Mac Blush in Dollymix

Naked Palette - Lid-Half Baked/Crease-Toasted/Outer V-Hustle/Highlight and inner corner-Virgin
Eyeliner on waterline - Bourjois Khol & Contour {the best eyeliner ever in my opinion}
Mascara - Maybelline The Falsies Black
Eyebrows - Natural Collection Midnight

Lipstick - Mac Angel

The sad thing is I haven't actually been anywhere at all today so it's all quite pointless really.  Oh well I'm sure Fletcher really appreciated my good hair day :-)

Well that's just pants

Were getting all personal around here today and while I don't go around showing my pants off in public I thought these were too good to keep to myself.  I don't know about you but I immediately feel awesome if I'm wearing great underwear and I'm not just talking pants, it goes without saying that wearing a well fitted bra does wonders for your shape but the bra's will have to wait for now as i'm currently breastfeeding a 7 month old baby which means I'm permanently in nursing bra's which do absolutely nothing for your shape.

I noticed that the majority of my pants had started to lose their elasticity (that's Primark for you) and rather than buy a load more of cheap pants I took advantage of the 3 for £10 offers in Topshop and Marks & Spencer and picked up these.

As you can see I'm a full pant kinda gal, I can't stand thongs, they are the most uncomfortable, unattractive things in the world.

What are you favourite kind of underwear, where do you like to shop for your smalls?
