Kitchen Tour

So  last year we had a new bathroom, this year I bring to you our new kitchen and I think were done with the major DIY projects now {if were being really honest I think our marriage is done with the DIY projects now}. I love my husband to bits but jeez he can really get mad if things don't quite go his way.  Having said that though he did an amazing job and I love cooking in there now.......OK who are we kidding I NEVER LOVE COOKING but I do really enjoy baking and doesn't my new Kitchenaid mixer look great in the corner, it's the perfect addition to my new kitchen.  I hope you enjoy having a little nose.
p.s. I know I could really do with refilling my jars!

I truly love my days off with these two.  Work for me is necessity as we wouldn't be able to afford to live in our house if I was a stay at home mum.  However saying that I do feel like I have struck a pretty good balance between work and home.  I spend Monday through Wednesday working as a Medical Secretary at the local hospital and whilst I do have my fair share of days where it's stressful and busy it really makes me appreciate my family when I get home to them from a busy day at the office.  Thursday's and Friday's are spent doing the usual, cleaning/shopping/laundry etc but its also the time when I get to fully cherish moments with Fletch and Maisy Dog even if it only means taking a stroll down the park so that Fletcher can play on the fire engine, or bundling up in our scarves and hats in the cold and crunching through the leaves, it's the small things that make the biggest impact and I love creating happy memories which I hope will stay with him forever.

The weekends are the BEST though because that's when Dylan comes out to play and you should see the way Fletch and his daddy play together, they are best friends and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I see the way he looks at his daddy.

Happy Saturday everyone, enjoy and cherish your families and as always

30......its not all that bad

If you follow me on Instagram then you will know by now that I got a rather amazing present for my 30th. The Artisan Kitchenaid has been on my wish list since forever.  Its one of those things you dream about having but you don't ever expect to actually own until my gem of a husband surprised me with one.  Its the pistachio colour in case you were wondering, and yes I have used it and it has revolutionised my life, no more icing dust covering EVERY inch of my kitchen!!
The surprises didn't end there though, my best friends and sister had arranged a spa day the day before my birthday at the Fistral Spa in Newquay.  It was such a perfect present, the girls know how much I love a good pamper. Fistral Spa blew my mind, pure indulgence and VIP treatment to the max, top marks to the staff there they made me feel super duper!  We started the day off with a swim, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna and then sat down with a magazine in the relaxation room for an hour.  Then it was time for afternoon tea where I had tremendous fun sampling the teeny tiny sandwiches and cakes whilst admiring the surfers from the window (the hotel overlooks fistral beach).  Then it was time for my pedicure which involved me lying back with a lavender pillow over my eyes whilst the therapist got to work on my toes.  I didn't want to leave.  That night I had the most amazing nights sleep ever and woke up feeling amazing as a 30 year old!!
I was adamant that I didn't want a party for the big 3.0. I just wanted to celebrate with a nice meal with my closest friends and that is exactly what we did and it was perfect.  On my actual birthday we went to lunch and had a lovely crisp cold walk along the beach followed by a birthday tea party with my family, it was all very wonderful, and extra brownie points for Dylan, he made that Cupcake Birthday Cake all by himself.  I had so many lovely thoughtful gifts from friends and family which I am so thankful for.
Being 30 is pretty awesome!
