House of Fraser are currently running a competition called The Fashion Undateables. They are calling on bloggers to offer styling tips for 2 guys that have been unlucky in love.  Read all about it here.

I picked Melvin to style using items from House of Fraser Menswear range

I like the idea of going bowling on a first date. It's fun even if you're totally rubbish and instantly gives you something to talk about rather than sitting in a cinema unable to talk (or getting popcorn stuck in your throat in my case).  Bowling alleys nearly always have a bar so if the date is going really well you can always grab a drink afterwards to get to know each other a little better.

So as the date is at a bowling alley the outfit would need to be pretty casual.  You still want to make a good impression though so it's best to try and dress a little smart for the occasion just don't go OTT.

A casual lightweight jacket is always a winner.  I love the colours and style of this one by Tommy Hilfiger

A nice and simple white polo shirt with a little pattern to give it that something extra but not too obnoxious. The collar adds a smart touch.

Keep it simple in a nice teal shade to compliment the white polo shirt.

In navy to compliment the teal chinos

Converse because they look great on everyone, white goes with everything and they will  never go out of style.

This is very important as you will be taking your shoes off to put your sexy bowling shoes on so you don't want holes in your socks, no one wants to see your toes poking out the end of your socks on a first date.

Don't be late, get there early and look stylish all at the same time.

I love it when a man smells delicious and this aftershave is one of my favourites for men.

Beards are so popular these days but make sure its well groomed with a brush and gel, we don't want to see crumbs from your lunch in there.

Well if you're grooming your beard you should really make an effort with your hair.  Smooth a bit through your locks to add some texture.

Lastly, the most important thing to wear is a SMILE!

Sorry its late but hey better late than never right.  To be honest I spent most of my weekend writing out my CV because I am officially on the hunt for a new job/career.  I plan to do a beauty course this year and am utterly fed up in my current job.  I did take a few pics nonetheless, so here you are.
Starting the weekend off as I always do with a Kayla workout//Fletcher playing dress up in daddy's bike gear//enjoying relaxed mornings with my boy (schools out for summer)//an indoor picnic because its raining outside//putting up new curtain poles and curtains//a super fun girls night out in Falmouth//monopoly and F1//Sunday Roast with the family.

Trousers and T Shirt - H&M//Flip Flops-Primark//Hoop earrings - Forever21

I love these trousers so much.  I paired them with a simple plain grey t-shirt as I think there is enough going on with the trousers without me adding another pattern into the mix. Added my £2.50 flip flops from Primark and its a simple and comfortable look (i'm all for comfort).

Fletcher broke up from pre-school today.  This excites me greatly because it means I get my boy back and I don't have to rush about in the mornings.  I'm staying in my PJ's until at least 9am tomorrow.

I had a horrendous time in work this week, we are so short staffed which basically left me as the only medical secretary in the whole department and looking after 8 consultants work is no easy feat let me tell you. This resulted in me bursting into tears as soon as I got home yesterday.  Thank god I have Dylan because he is the best at giving hugs and is generally great at making me feel better about things (hello flowers and chocolates).  Needless to say I have been searching for a new job, I feel like I want to do something completely different.  I've been dying to do a beauty course for years and almost feel like this might be the push I need to actually do it.

(even through the tears)

Mixing stripes (H&M) with spots (Zara)//Cutting the grass// Doing a spot of gardening
OOTD Top-Newlook/Leggings-H&M//looking at cars for Dylan and falling in love with the Fiat 500, not ideal for a family though//taking Fletch out to practice riding his bike, he was literally doing laps on his own come the end//washing my car at 8pm and it was still light I LOVE SUMMER EVENINGS.

I hope you enjoy reading these posts as much as I enjoy writing them.

There was a lot to celebrate this weekend.  It was Dylan's birthday on Thursday, unfortunately he had to work but we did celebrate with a little birthday breakfast and also cake when he came home.  Friday evening we took a trip to St Ives for a lovely meal in a little restaurant called Cellar Bistro, the food was great and we got there early enough  so that we could leave and watch the sunset on the beach and also take a little stroll around St Ives because it is so beautiful there.

Saturday was another lovely sunny day so we had a little picnic in the dunes at Gwithian beach and then walked down to the beach to watch the surfers.  Topped off the evening with pizza and Fletch had a dip in his new hot tub :-)

Sunday was a wet and dreary day but we had a lovely afternoon celebrating our friends son's christening. We also had roast dinner at my mum's but that isn't pictured, oh and the sun decided to make an appearance at about 6pm too!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
